Bottleneck at first timed section 40km of riding in Wales, in January? Seemed like a very good idea about three months ago but me and Jamie rolled into Wales feeling slightly apprehensive on Saturday morning. We decamped into the village hall and then headed for the pub to get some food and maybe a [...] Frostbite 40 Noticed this event and thought it might be worth a mention as I have fond memories of riding in Brechfa a while ago. Well the current trend for wider bars has led to the fitting of 750mm Easton Havoc bars on the Kona, partly to see what they are like and partly cos the colour looks good on the bike. I also had a go at DIYing my chain device as it was a [...] A quiet Saturday led me and Tom to take a little pootle over to Peaslake for a bit of an explore. We’ve been there plenty of times but thought we’d have a look around for some new stuff as it was starting to feel a little bit stale riding the same stuff over and over. [...] After some unfortunate timing we were unable to attend the now annual Cakeriders Alps trip but did manage to squeeze in a few days riding on a trip up to Scotland anyway, starting off with a pleasant two day stay at Glentress. [...] charles getting ready Well arriving before everyone else I was treated to some typically Welsh weather as I sheltered in the car. Although as other people arrived the weather started to clear up and eventually it turned into a nice summers day. [...] Well a nice little new bike for me, already been seen for a limited time on the site but thought I’d put up a proper post as it’s a new bike and in theory this is supposed to be a cycling related internet doodah! It’s small, blue, singlespeed and rigid….hurrah! Managed to restrain myself so [...] No photos unfortunately as Camelbaks don’t fit over body armour. Overall it was a good if long day, shame the van broke down in the afternoon resulting in slightly fewer runs than I would have liked but hey ho! The course is pretty good but quite short, the top half splits into two runs, both [...] Well it’s a nice shiny new bike for me, only ridden it twice but seems very nice. The suspension design seems to work pretty well, Equilink seems to allow you to pedal without it bobbing around too much and the Hammerschmidt is very nice.
