Combination of not getting out of work until 4pm and new bike fever meant a slightly different training ride today.
Even with leaving having to deal with traffic grid lock, closed roads and getting a bit lost around Putney still managed to get to Richmond Park by 5pm. May only be about 10miles but considering the problems on the roads that felt ok.
Three laps of Richmond Park and a ride home meant a ride total of 41miles. Although this is not as much as is needed I think considering riding 120miles and missing a nights sleep over the weekend it was probably sensible to restrict the distance slightly.
The nice thing about it was that I could get this sort of ride in after a full day at work and still be home by just gone 7pm so will have to schedule a few more of these before Kielder. Though still cannot bring myself to leave work wearing just lycra on my bottom half so I think we are a long way off considering that leg shaving is a sensible and reasonable option.

Co’mon you know you wanna! (Shave legs)
Er no! Would look wrong with baggy shorts on the mountain bike.
Oh, so you’re not totally disregarding the idea then? ;)
It is something that is NOT to be considered by any male cakerider!!
True! ha ha!!
How is the new bike then?
Bike is really good, already clocked nearly couple of hundred miles on it.
Lookibng at possibly doing a couple of events at the end of Sept/start of October if you are interested.
